These taste just like the pretzels you buy in stores! Very yummy. Let me know some good ideas what you are supposed to dip pretzels in!
1 pkg active dry yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water
1/4 cup brown sugar
4 1/2 cups flour
baking soda
kosher salt
Combine yeast, warm water, and sugar together. Let stand 5 min. Add flour and beat with dough hook or knead on floured surface 6-7 mins. or until smooth. Let stand 5-10 min. Meanwhile, fill a saucepan 3/4 full with water. For every cup of water, add 2 teaspoons of baking soda to the pan. Bring water and soda to a boil. Divide dough into 12 pieces and roll each piece into a rope and fold into a pretzel. Drop each pretzel in boiling water for about 10 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon. Place pretzels on greased baking sheet and sprinkle with salt. Bake at 450 degrees for 8-9 minutues, or till golden brown.

I had the young women over to make these for an activity night. They LOVED it. They made all sorts of crazy shapes and then we had tons of yummy dipping sauces: chocolate (yes, that's right), alfredo, cinnamon & sugar, melted butter, chili/cheese dip, creamed cheese, etc. This was a great YW activity.
